Well, this summer has been great. I expected as much since everyone I talked to strongly encouraged me to (warned me that I better) do everything I want, enjoying everyday until med school starts in August. To date, I think I have done many of those things:
- Move back to WI (ok this was a given, but I had plenty of time to settle in, organize, etc)
- Train the little puppy. Lucy has come a long way
- Our 2nd wedding anniversary (and dinner at Bacchus)
- Be a counselor at CAHC in Wheaton, Il.
- Run a 5k (next time it'll go better)
- Enjoy the fireworks on the lakefront (I did, Lucy was another story)
- July 4th at Jenna's in the F-D-L. AND water skiing for the first time (along with jet skiing, camp firing, and 5-star food)
- Tailgate and go see the Crew... On the first base line, and catch a foul ball from Manny Ramirez
- Go on a group motorcycle ride - I need a touring bike, but this was a blast beyond description
- Read several recreational books (most recently "Illegal Drugs")
- A couple great afternoons at Tom's place on the lake
- Go to Las Vegas (a subsequent post will elaborate - this was intense!)
- A wedding here (Nikki Birr), a wedding there (Amy and Brian)
- Golf / visit the driving range a couple times
- Shadow an ER physician
- Camp in Crivits (future event)
School is approaching (1.5 weeks away). I am sure I left something off. However this summer has been great. I will reserve the sentimental "I am ready for school" post for later, but right now things are great. Stay tuned...
PS- is a blog just a fancy journal, a record of our lives, my own personal newspaper, or something else all together?
